The Story of Uranus
Long ago before anything was created Gaea
(Mother Earth) came out of the darkness and Uranus
(Father Sky) appeared above her. Gaea had created
him without help and he was her son. Gaea and Uranus were the first Greek gods and the early greeks worshied them. He was
magnificent to see because he was dark blue and filled with bright shinning stars. Thus he became known as the god of the heavens. They fell in love with each other and had many offspring. All
there children loved their mother but feared their
father because he was the ruler of the universeHe ruled over the 12 titans and was
very proud of them. But when Gaea bore the 3
Cyclopes and the 100 handed ones Uranus was
disgusted by them. So he seized the Cyclopes' and
their brother (100 handed ones) and threw them into
tartus the deepest, darkest pit on the whole
Earth. Since Uranus had gotten rid of all Gaea's
Children except for the titans, she encouraged
Cronus to dethrone his father. All the other
Titans were afraid to help him. He wielded his
sharp sickle and went after his father. Uranus
coul not withstand the powerful weapon Cronus
equipped and he fled the earth giving up all of his
powers. Thus ended Uranus' rule and Cronus to the
throne.
